For patients

Is ClinMatch free to use?

Yes. ClinMatch is completely free for patients. You pay nothing to search, triage, or book. If your provider charges a copay or a cash self-pay rate, you pay that directly to the provider at or after your visit — ClinMatch never charges patients.

What is the AI symptom check?

The symptom check is a guided conversation where you describe what you're feeling. Our AI identifies which type of specialist is most likely to help you — for example, "your symptoms sound like they belong with a dermatologist" — and then links you directly to available, bookable providers in that specialty. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace a medical evaluation.

What information do I need to share with the AI?

Describe your symptoms only — no name, no insurance details, no contact information. The triage AI is designed to work with symptom descriptions. We intentionally keep this step anonymous.

Is my data private?

Yes. Symptom triage is anonymous — we don't attach it to your account or share it with providers. When you create an account and book, your booking information is handled under our HIPAA-compliant infrastructure. See our HIPAA Notice and Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes. Cancellation is free with no penalty. Cancel any time from your patient dashboard or by contacting support. See our Cancellation Policy for details.

How do I know a provider is real and credentialed?

Every provider on ClinMatch goes through manual credential review before appearing in search results. We verify: NPI number, professional license (number, state, and active status), malpractice insurance, and board certification if claimed. Providers cannot list themselves — they must be approved.

What does the copay estimate mean?

Providers set their own estimated copay — this is what they expect most insured patients to pay out-of-pocket at the visit. It is an estimate, not a guarantee. Your actual cost depends on your specific insurance plan and deductible. Always confirm your benefits with your insurer before the visit.

What if I don't have insurance?

Many providers on ClinMatch publish a cash self-pay rate — a flat price for the visit with no insurance required. Use the 'Cash / self-pay only' filter on the search page to see only those providers. The price shown is what the provider charges, and you know it before you book.

What is a 'confirmed' booking?

A booking becomes confirmed when the provider accepts it in their dashboard. You'll receive an email confirmation immediately. Until then, your booking is 'pending.' You can cancel a pending booking at no cost.

Does ClinMatch handle billing or payment?

No. ClinMatch handles scheduling only. You pay your provider directly — cash, card, or insurance — at or after your visit. ClinMatch never charges your payment method.

For providers

How much does it cost to list on ClinMatch?

Nothing upfront. ClinMatch charges a flat fee per confirmed booking — between $10 and $35 depending on specialty. You pay nothing until a patient books with you and you confirm the appointment. No monthly subscription. No setup fee. No contract.

When exactly does the booking fee trigger?

The fee is charged when you click 'Confirm' on a booking in your provider dashboard. If a patient books and you do not confirm, no fee is charged. If a patient cancels before you confirm, no fee is charged. The fee only applies to bookings you actively accept.

What if a patient is a no-show?

If a patient does not show up for a confirmed appointment, contact our support team within 48 hours with the booking ID. We review no-show disputes case by case and will credit or reverse fees for documented no-shows.

What if a patient cancels after I confirm?

Patients can cancel free of charge up to 2 hours before the appointment. If a patient cancels a confirmed booking with less than 2 hours notice, the booking fee may still apply — see the Provider Agreement for the full cancellation policy.

How does billing work?

We charge the booking fee to your Stripe payment method on file. You'll receive an itemized receipt by email for each confirmed booking. You can view all billing history in your provider dashboard.

How long does credential review take?

Most applications are reviewed within 2–3 business days. We verify your NPI, license, and malpractice insurance against public databases and the records you submit. You'll receive an email when your profile is approved and live.

Can I be on ClinMatch and Zocdoc at the same time?

Yes. There's no exclusivity requirement. Many providers run both. Since ClinMatch has no monthly fee, you pay nothing if ClinMatch doesn't send you patients — so running both costs you nothing extra.

Can I set my own prices?

Yes. You set your own copay estimate and, if you accept self-pay patients, your cash rate. ClinMatch displays these to patients before they book. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listed rates.

What is the fee schedule?

Fees range from $10 to $35 per confirmed booking depending on specialty. The full fee schedule is listed on the provider join page. The default rate for unlisted specialties is $18. Rates are subject to 30-day advance notice before any increase.

What if I want to stop using ClinMatch?

Close your account any time from your dashboard — no cancellation fee, no notice period required. Outstanding confirmed bookings should still be honored before closing.

Is a BAA (Business Associate Agreement) available?

Yes. ClinMatch will sign a BAA with listed providers on request. Contact us at admin@clinmatchhealth.com to request one.
